The City would like to inform all residents the current resurfacing and associated works have been put on hold due to a potential underground cable relocation by Western Power.

Western Power has identified underground cables in the drainage pit on the north-east corner of Lyons Street and North Street, and are currently considering solutions for relocation. The City is working with Western Power to coordinate the works to minimise disturbance to rehabilitated areas.

We appreciate your patience as we work towards implementing a solution as soon as practicable and apologise for any inconvenience experienced during this period.

    Works to be completed include:

    • Installing pram ramps
    • Connecting the footpath from Lyons Street to North Street
    • Laying asphalt final surface
    • Finishing works

    When is this happening?

Until the extent of the works has been confirmed by Western Power the City is currently looking at a completion time frame of approximately three months for the relocation of these cables.

During this period, the road will be opened as normal, however traffic management signage and cones will be placed in any areas not yet complete.
