The work is being undertaken as a result of the road suffering substantial fatigue cracking and will include upgrades of kerbing, drainage lids, pram ramps and crossovers.
The timetable is as follows:
- Drainage improvements: 3-13 January 2017
- Kerb removal: 5-13 January 2017
- Road surface preparation and resurfacing: 16-23 January 2017
- Installation of new kerbing: 24-25 January 2017
- Concreting works: 30 January to 1 February 2017
- Finishing works: 1-8 February 2017
- Top layer of road resurfacing: 9 February 2017
- Completion: 10 February 2017
During this time, road closures will be in place with detours around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access whilst closures are in place, with on-site traffic controllers assisting motorists and pedestrians. There will be periods of time (approximately 4 hours) following the laying of new asphalt road surface where access to properties may be limited due to the drying time of the bitumen.
Properties with reticulation may have their reticulation temporarily re-routed during the construction period. The City will repair any damaged reticulation in the verge, however property owners need to ensure that the reticulation system is tested and any faults are reported to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.
For further information or enquiries, please contact the Project Engineer, Tim Hollow, by telephoning the City on (08) 9273 3500.
