The City has appointed Civcon Civil to undertake road resurfacing and associated works from Wednesday 5 April 2017. These works will be undertaken between 7.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.

During the works, road closures will be required with detours provided. Closures are planned to cease around 4.30 pm to minimise inconvenience. However, we do ask that you consider increasing your commuting times during peak periods when planning your journey.

The operations team on site will endeavour to offer access to your property at all times, however there may be short periods when materials are required to cure. On these occasions the City will ensure contact has been made and suitable alternative arrangements have been discussed.

The kerbing will be replaced and upgraded with a new standard semi-mountable kerb. Where necessary, the reticulation may be temporarily re-routed to allow the works to proceed.

If you are a property owner, it is important that you test your reticulation system and report any faults within two weeks of the works being completed. If the reticulation is damaged during the works, the City will make good any repairs. However, after this period the City cannot be held responsible for further repairs.

The program for the works follow:

    • Site preparation: 5 to 7 April
    • Remove and prepare new kerbing for sealing: 10 to 14 April
    • Remove and reinstate drainage: 14 to 24 April
    • Profile and seal road: 25 to 26 April
    • Install new kerbing and pram ramps: 27 to 28 April
    • Reinstate reticulation: 1 May
    • Asphalting of road: 3 May
    • Reinstatement of driveway crossovers: 4 to 5 May
    • Completion, including site clean-up: 8 May

For enquiries, please contact Paul Beasley, Engineering Projects Coordinator, telephone (08) 9273 3500, or by email, pbeasley@nedlands.wa.gov.au or the Contractor's Supervisor, Sean Connolly, telephone 0410 402 004.

Thank you for your cooperation during this period.

The City of Nedlands have been awarded a grant of $461,000 in Federal Blackspot funding to undertake an upgrade of the intersection of Railway Road and Gugeri Street with Loch Street to improve road safety following a high number of crashes in the area.

The safety issues at the intersection have been recognised by the Australian Government’s Blackspot Program and the funding for the upgrade to the intersection goes a long way to help enhance and improve road safety within the City.
