During August and September 2017, all turf areas within parks and reserves throughout the City will be treated for the control of broadleaf weeds. Due to the unpredictable nature of weather conditions, exact dates for spraying cannot be confirmed.

Appropriate signage, as required by the Health (Pesticides) Regulations 2011, will be clearly displayed during the application. Treatment will be undertaken by licensed contractors under the supervision of City staff.

Signage will be placed at each location and will remain in place until such time that the surface to which the product has been applied is dry. The operations will be monitored by City officers in accordance with safety guidelines and the City asks the public not to enter onto the area while the signs are displayed.

When the surface has dried, the signs will be removed and the public will be free to enter the area. City staff in attendance during and after treatment will be able to assist the public with any questions they may
    have.

The product to be applied is a weed-specific selective herbicide consisting of the active chemical combination of MCPA – 300 g/L + Clopyralid – 20 g/L + Diflufenican – 15 g/L. The product is to be applied in accordance with the product label, as is required by State and Federal laws.

Further details may be obtained by contacting Andrew Dickson, Manager Parks Services, telephone (08) 9273 3500.

The City has appointed Civcon Civil to undertake road resurfacing and associated works from 24 July 2017 for a period of up to four weeks. These works will be undertaken during weekdays between the hours of 7am to 5pm.

The works will include the new kerbs, drainage, pruning of trees, concreting of driveway crossovers, ashphalting and sealing and irrigation modifications.

The preparatory works may need to be undertaken outside of these dates which can include kerb removal, capping of reticulation, and installation of signage and paint markings.

    Access and Road Closures

Road closures will be required for the works to be successfully completed. During this time, detours will be in place.

Closures are planned to cease around 4.30 pm to minimise inconvenience, however please consider your commuting times during peak periods.

The operations team on site will endeavour to offer access to your property at all times but there may be short periods when materials are required to cure. On these occasions we will ensure suitable alternative arrangements have been discussed.

    Kerbing & Reticulation
