    This notice is on behalf of the Town of Claremont.

    Footpath reconstruction will be undertaken on the west side of Loch Street, between Stirling Hwy and Melville Street, scheduled to commence Monday 12 October 2020, with an expected completion by Friday 16 October 2020 (weather permitting).

    Below is the proposed sequence of events:

    • Remove sections of old footpath, including old crossovers and paving along the footpath alignment. This is to achieve a uniform look and surface for the new footpath;
    • Form up and pour a new 1.8m minimum width concrete footpath in Claremont cream colour;
    • Repair any damage to verges, crossovers or reticulation and undertake general clean up.

    If you have any vegetation growing over the footpath, please ensure this is pruned back to the property line prior to Monday 12 October 2020. If you wish to retain any excavated bricks or pavers that will be removed from your verge, please contact the Town to make the necessary arrangements.

    Works are expected to occur between 7am to 5pm on weekdays.

    As part of the Forrestfield Airport Link Services, the Public Transport Authority will need to close one traffic lane on Railway Road outside Karrakatta Station.

    The lane closure is necessary for the creation of a bus layover area for bus replacement services while works are being completed at Claremont Station. Traffic will continue to have access past the temporary bus layover area.

    The lane closure is expected to be in place from 8pm Thursday 8 October and should be completed by 5am Monday 12 October.

    Major works and Fremantle Line partial closure: 8-12 October 2020

    From 8pm Thursday 8 October to 4am Monday 12 October 2020, major works will take place to construct a new pedestrian underpass west of Claremont Station.

    Once complete in early 2021, the new pedestrian underpass will permanently replace the station’s existing western pedestrian level crossing, and provide a safer north-south pedestrian and cyclist connection under the Fremantle Line.

    A number of other significant project works will take place during the closure between Showgrounds and Swanbourne stations. Work will take place 24 hours a day and a variety of machinery will be used.

    The City is undertaking kerbing and paving repair works in Grove End Ridge, Mt Claremont and community members and road users may be inconvenienced while this work is being undertaken.

    Axiis Contracting will carry out the works, commencing Monday 28 September 2020 between the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm.


    The works should be completed within a two-week timeframe, dependent on weather/resources and will include:

    • Removal of existing kerb;
    • Removal of raised paving sections;
    • Removal of tree roots;
    • Reinstatement of paving and concrete kerbing


    Please note that some preparatory works will need to be undertaken outside of these dates and may include survey and paint markings.

    This notice is on behalf of Town of Claremont.

    Road Rehabilitation for Melvista Avenue (between Bay Road and Stone Street) is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 29 September 2020, with an expected completion date by Friday 9 October 2020 (weather permitting).

    The proposed sequence of events of works is as follows:

    • Week 1: Remove existing kerb (where applicable), cut and remove some crossover entries with access still provided to residents into their property, undertake drainage improvements, remove existing road surface to a maximum depth of 50mm, install the required type of kerb (including in front of crossovers);
    • Week 2: Lay asphalt surface to a maximum of 50mm deep, reinstate and repave crossovers, backfill behind kerbs, general clean up, including reticulation repairs.

    Some crossovers may need to be modified by the Town's contractor, with the relevant material to better match the new levels of the newly constructed road. When this occurs, please do not remove the cones as concrete that has been laid may be curing or the new asphalt cooling. During this time, alternate arrangements may need to be made when accessing properties, for a maximum of 24 hours for concrete curing.

    Works are expected to occur between 7am and 5pm on weekdays.

    Roads 2000 will be carrying out Road intersection upgrade and associated works on Beatrice Road, Nedlands.

    The works will include:

    • Asphalt profiling
    • Line Grinding
    • New Kerb island
    • Concrete infill
    • Faux Paving

    The works will be commencing Monday 22 June 2020 and should be completed within a two week timeframe however, this is dependent on the weather and resources.
    Works will be undertaken during weekdays, between the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm. Please note that some preparatory works will need to be undertaken outside of these dates and may include survey set-out and paint markings.

    Civcon will be carrying out footpath improvement works on Monash Avenue, Nedlands, on behalf of the City.

    Works will commence Monday 6 July 2020 and will include:

    • Verge demolition and kerb removal;
    • Installation of new concrete kerb;
    • Installation of new brick paved footpath / hardstand area;
    • Installation of new concrete aprons; and
    • Driveway accommodation works.

    Works will be undertaken between Monday to Saturday, between the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm.

    The works should be completed within a two-week timeframe; however, this is dependent on the weather and resources. Please note that some preparatory works will need to be undertaken outside of these dates and may include service location and paint markings.

    Please be informed that the east bound lane will be closed during the works, and commuters are advised to follow detour signs and plan ahead to reach their destination. A copy of the diversion route can be viewed in the document library.
