Loftus Street (between Carrington Street and Government Road - Road Resurfacing and Associated Works

The work is being undertaken as a result of the road suffering substantial fatigue cracking and will include upgrades of kerbing, drainage lids, pram ramps and crossovers.
The timetable is as follows:
- Kerb removal works: 6 February 2017
- Road surface preparation: 7-10 February 2017
- Concreting works: 8 February 2017
- Installation of kerbs: 13 February 2017
- Asphalt works: 13 February 2017
- Irrigation modifications: 7–13 February 2017
There may be periods of time following the laying of new asphalt road surface where access to properties may be limited due to the drying time of the bitumen. In addition, parking on the road will be required whilst the crossover aprons are being installed to each property.
Properties with reticulation may have their reticulation temporarily re-routed during the construction period. The City will repair any damaged reticulation in the verge, however property owners need to ensure that the reticulation system is tested and any faults are reported to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.

New Local Planning Scheme No. 3 has progressed

At this meeting, the Council resolved to adopt the draft Local Planning Scheme No. 3 with a number of modifications.

The agenda contains the officers report. The attachment is the Scheme document itself and the minutes explain the modifications made by Council. Please note that the Scheme document must be read with the modifications.
The draft Scheme and modifications will now be submitted to the Western Australian Planning Commission for approval to advertise the document to the community.

Boronia Avenue (from 45 Boronia Avenue to Stirling Highway)

These works will be undertaken during weekdays between the hours of 7.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Restrictions will apply when the works are being undertaken at the intersection with Stirling Highway. Signage will be displayed advising of same accordingly.
Road closures will be required with detours in place. These closures will cease at approximately 4.30 pm each day to minimise inconvenience, however we do ask that residents consider increasing their commuting times during peak periods.
Access to your property will be available at all times, however there may be short periods when access cannot be permitted. On these occasions, the City will ensure that contact has been made with you and suitable alternative arrangements have been agreed.
The kerbing will also be replaced and upgraded and where necessary the reticulation will be temporarily rerouted to allow the works to proceed. If the reticulation on your property is damaged during this process, the City will make good the repair. However it is important that the reticulation system be tested and any faults be reported to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.
