    The City has contracted Civcon Civil to undertake road resurfacing and associated works on Edward Street, between Broadway and Bruce from 20 February 2017 for a period of up to six weeks.

    During the works, road closures will be required with detours provided. Closures are planned to cease around 4.30 pm to minimise inconvenience. However we do ask that you consider increasing your commuting times during peak periods when planning your journey.

    The operations team on site will endeavour to offer access to your property at all times, however there may be short periods when materials are required to cure. On these occasions the City will ensure contact has been made and suitable alternative arrangements have been discussed.

    The kerbs will be replaced and upgraded with a new standard semi-mountable kerb. Where necessary reticulation may be temporarily re-routed to all the works to proceed. If the reticulation is damaged during this process, the City will make good any repairs. However it is important that you test your reticulation system and report any faults within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for further repairs.

    The proposal from an adjacent property owner to modify the Jutland Parade/Iris Avenue Intersection was approved by the Council at its meeting of 23 August 2016.

    All approvals for the project are now in place. The City is waiting for the Project Manager to provide a construction date which is expected to occur following the construction of the house which is expected to be completed by 30 June 2018.

    The City has subcontracted the company Civcon to undertake road resurfacing and associated works on the section of Loftus Street from Carrington Street to Government Road, from Monday, 6 February 2017 for a period of one week between the hours of 7.00 am and 5.00 pm.

    The work is being undertaken as a result of the road suffering substantial fatigue cracking and will include upgrades of kerbing, drainage lids, pram ramps and crossovers.

    The timetable is as follows:

    • Kerb removal works: 6 February 2017
    • Road surface preparation: 7-10 February 2017
    • Concreting works: 8 February 2017
    • Installation of kerbs: 13 February 2017
    • Asphalt works: 13 February 2017
    • Irrigation modifications: 7–13 February 2017
    During this time, road closures will be in place with detours around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access whilst closures are in place, with on-site traffic controllers assisting motorists and pedestrians.

    There may be periods of time following the laying of new asphalt road surface where access to properties may be limited due to the drying time of the bitumen. In addition, parking on the road will be required whilst the crossover aprons are being installed to each property.

    Properties with reticulation may have their reticulation temporarily re-routed during the construction period. The City will repair any damaged reticulation in the verge, however property owners need to ensure that the reticulation system is tested and any faults are reported to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.

    Due to the heavy rain occurring on the 9 and 10 February 2017, the program for completing these works have changed. The new expected completed date is Friday 10 March 2017 (previously 23 February). The amended schedule follows:

    • Asphalt works: 24 February 2017
    • Sealing, kerb survey, installation of pram ramps: 27 February 2017
    • Installation of new kerbs: 28 February to 3 March 2017
    • Completion of kerbs and installing concrete aprons: 1 to 3 March 2017
    • Finishing works for pram ramps, asphalting of road: 9 March 2017
    • Completion: 10 March 2017

      Roads2000 have been contracted to undertake road resurfacing and associated works in Boronia Avenue for a four week period commencing on 16 January 2017. These works will be undertaken during weekdays between the hours of 7.00 am to 5.00 pm.

      Restrictions will apply when the works are being undertaken at the intersection with Stirling Highway. Signage will be displayed advising of same accordingly.

      Road closures will be required with detours in place. These closures will cease at approximately 4.30 pm each day to minimise inconvenience, however we do ask that residents consider increasing their commuting times during peak periods.

      Access to your property will be available at all times, however there may be short periods when access cannot be permitted. On these occasions, the City will ensure that contact has been made with you and suitable alternative arrangements have been agreed.

      The kerbing will also be replaced and upgraded and where necessary the reticulation will be temporarily rerouted to allow the works to proceed. If the reticulation on your property is damaged during this process, the City will make good the repair.       Thank you to those people who participated in this engagement project for the proposal to install a traffic calming treatment in Gallop Road between Bruce Street and Wavell Road.

      A new treatment will be installed outside of 2 Hobbs Avenue which best meets the site requirements. In addition, the existing traffic calming treatment will also be upgraded to meet Main Roads WA Standard.
