The&nbsp;river foreshore is highly valued&nbsp;and used&nbsp;by the&nbsp;local&nbsp;residents&nbsp;of Dalkeith, Nedlands, Crawley and Claremont as well as the wider Perth&nbsp;community.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW3782363 BCX8">This area of&nbsp;river foreshore&nbsp;is unique and&nbsp;varies considerably along its length from large open recreational spaces to narrow stretches directly abutting private residences.&nbsp;&nbsp;<div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW91970050 BCX8">What has happened so far&nbsp;</div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW91970050 BCX8">The&nbsp;City&nbsp;has been working in collaboration with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions&nbsp;(DBCA)&nbsp;Riverbank Program to implement river foreshore restoration projects.&nbsp;The City and&nbsp;DBCA&nbsp;are now looking to establish a more strategic approach to guide long term planning and&nbsp;action&nbsp;through the development of a Foreshore Management Plan.&nbsp;</div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW91970050 BCX8">What is happening now&nbsp;</div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW91970050 BCX8">The&nbsp;City&nbsp;has engaged with consultants,&nbsp;Urbaqua, MP&nbsp;Rogers and Shape Urban, to prepare a Foreshore Management&nbsp;Plan for this project.&nbsp;A Foreshore Management Plan is a&nbsp;strategic document&nbsp;that&nbsp;guides the use, activity,&nbsp;development&nbsp;and&nbsp;environmental protection&nbsp;of the&nbsp;marine&nbsp;and&nbsp;physical environment&nbsp;within the foreshore area.&nbsp;&nbsp;This&nbsp;Foreshore Management Plan&nbsp;will&nbsp;provide a&nbsp;framework for guiding the long-term management of the foreshore, specifically&nbsp;aiming well-used this area of foreshore is for passive and active recreation activities, both on land and in the river. As a result, the&nbsp;City&nbsp;will be undertaking extensive community and stakeholder engagement to inform the development of the Foreshore Management Plan&nbsp;to ensure&nbsp;it reflects community expectations.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW91970050 BCX8">The City acknowledges temporary repair works currently taking place along the foreshore. Amended Plans have now been received for the proposed development at 13 Vincent Street, Nedlands.The City is providing the opportunity for you to find out more about the revised plans and to provide a submission, as follows.What has happened so far?<ul><li>On 29 January 2020, the application received for the development of 15 apartments (multiple dwellings) at <a href="https://yourvoice.nedlands.wa.gov.au/development-application-13-vincent-street-15-multiple-dwellings">13 VIncent Street, Nedlands</a>.</li><li>Public advertising of the proposal was conducted during February 2020.</li><li>The application was considered by the Metro Inner-North Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) on 11 May 2020, where it was approved. </li></ul>What happens next?Amended Plans have now been submitted by the applicant. Pursuant to regulation 17A of the Planning and Development (Development Assessment Panels) Regulations, the applicant may apply to the relevant responsible authority to determine an amended JDAP application.What are the changes?The majority of the proposed changes relate to Building Code of Australia compliance matters. The only exception being an additional 200mm in building height.
