Point Resolution Reserve - Greenway update

Approximately 7,000 water-wise, locally occurring native shrubs and groundcovers were planted following the installation of fencing and the laying of certified mulch.
Ongoing maintenance and weed control will continue in the coming months.

Ongoing weed management is also scheduled to continue through Spring and early summer.
This project is in partnership with the Swanbourne Coastal Alliance and the Western Australian Planning Commission’s Coastwest Program, and will assist the City to reduce erosion, control environmental weeds as well as increase habitat and improve ecological corridors.

The fitness equipment is scheduled to be upgraded in late August, early September 2019. This will include four pieces of equipment, replacement of soft- fall, new edging and instruction signage.
Signage will be in place to advise the commencement of fitness equipment upgrades.

Works will be undertaken weekdays, between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
The site will be secured with temporary fencing to ensure a safe work site and area for people moving around the site. There will be some minor and temporary inconvenience at times to footpaths and local traffic in and around the site during the works. In addition, due to the nature of the works, trucks will be accessing the site at various intervals with materials. The access route will be from the West Coast Highway/North Street/Marine Parade.The rehabilitation works will include:
- Levelling the oval surface with a compactor
- Installing a new irrigation system
- Constructing a new cricket wicket
- Establishing new turf
- Installing new park furniture
- Reverting areas of existing turf to eco-zones (bush revegetation)

- Bus stops near John XXIII College (SN19482 and SN19479) are being upgraded to include disability access and installation of a new shelter.
- Remediation to the footpath and kerb area on the western side of Montgomery Avenue from Alfred Road to the carpark at Mt Claremont.
- All drainage pits along the City’s distributor roads will be cleaned.
This period of time has been chosen to reduce the impact on the nearby school communities.

Works were as follows:
- A new 430m of DN100 new water main installed along the north/west side of Verdun/Burwood, and switching the service connections from the old main to the new one.
- New water mains installed by open-trenching.
- Reinstatement and restoration of these areas.
The project is now complete, and we thank you for your patience.

This project revegetated parts of the grass verge areas on the western side and eastern side of the railway line.
Following the removal of grass weeds and limestone rubble in May, certified mulch and 5700 seedlings were planted in June.
All planted species of native trees, shrubs and ground covers are waterwise, are of local provenance and naturally occurring in the region.

The City will be placing a "No Parking" sign on the south side of Kirwan Street and Whitfeld Street between Birkdale and Selby Street to prohibit parking in this area.
Council at is meeting on Tuesday, 25 June approved:
- 3-hour parking prohibitions on the north side of Kirwan Street and Whitfeld Street, between Birkdale Street and Selby Street; and
- 'No parking' prohibitions on the south side of Kirwan Street and Whitfeld Street between Birkdale Street and Selby Street.
Please organise a parking permit by Friday, 26 July 2019, as after this time the new parking restrictions will be implemented.
