The City has received an application from Drainflow Services for approval under Regulation 14A of the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997 of a noise management plan for carrying out road sweeping activities before 7am.

The works are proposed to be carried out once per month, between 6am and 7am, on a designated day between Monday and Friday on Waratah Avenue, Broadway and Hampden Road within the City of Nedlands.

The works schedule proposed by Drainflow Services is designed to minimise the overall impact on persons and local businesses, reduce the risk of pedestrian and plant interaction and improve the productivity and quality of sweeping works for a safer and more effective operation.

The purpose of the noise management plan is to describe how the noise impact from road sweeping activities will be managed and minimised by Drainflow Services. A copy of the plan can be viewed in the document library on this page. Copies are also available at the Administration Office and Nedlands Library, Stirling Highway Nedlands.

The City is seeking public comment regarding the noise management plan before its approval, as required under Regulation 14A (8-10). This will allow the City to best consider the views of the community and make an informed decision when considering whether to allow these operations.

Submissions may be made in writing to the Chief Executive Officer, City of Nedlands, PO Box 9, Nedlands WA 6909, by no later than 5pm, Friday, 24 August.

A outcomes will be published on this engagement page and the City's website.
