- The completion of earthworks, installation of pathway and cricket pitch will take place end of September/Early October
- The last few weeks of October will see the installation of the irrigation system
- Installation of grass through rolls of turf around the pitch, the outfield and surrounds in early November
It is hoped that the field will be 90% grassed in the new year.Further updates, will be posted to this page. -

Montario Quarter is the perfect place for entertaining, fitness, relaxing, art and fun, and high quality, carefully designed parks and public open spaces will be a key feature as this precinct develops.
The Green Building Council Australia (GBCA) has recognised Montario Quarter as being among the world's leading sustainable developments, through accreditation as a 6-Star Green Star Community.
Receiving GBCA's highest precinct sustainability rating, Montario Quarter was acknowledged for key sustainability elements including:
- More than 25% of the site retained as public open space
- Water-wise landscaping and re-vegetation of the retained bushland using local native species
- Early community engagement to identify local values for the retention of key heritage/environmental features
- Improved building energy and water use performance through sustainable building Design Guidelines
- Encouraging access to local-sourced fresh food, with requirements on developers to install a community garden as part of the development

The City will be implementing a number of parking controls in relation to resident and verge parking, along with implementing temporary parking restrictions to ensure public safety during this time, as follows.TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTIONSTemporary parking restrictions will occur in a number of streets around the Claremont Showgrounds precinct (refer to map in the document library). The restrictions will only apply to the days of the event.Any vehicles parking inconsistent with the displayed signage may receive an infringement notice.RESIDENT PARKINGThe City will not be issuing parking permits to residents. If temporary restrictions apply to the area in which you reside, you need to seek alternative parking arrangements during this time.VERGE PARKINGIf vehicles are parked on your verge without your consent, please contact the City's Ranger Services (see below). An officer will attend, and may issue an infringement to the vehicle owner.For enquiries, please contact the Ranger Services on (08) 9273 3500 during office hours or email council@nedlands.wa.gov.auThe City's Ranger Services will be patrolling these areas whilst this event is occurring. The fitness equipment is scheduled to be upgraded in late August, early September 2019. This will include four pieces of equipment, replacement of soft- fall, new edging and instruction signage.
Signage will be in place to advise the commencement of fitness equipment upgrades.

Works will be undertaken weekdays, between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
The site will be secured with temporary fencing to ensure a safe work site and area for people moving around the site. There will be some minor and temporary inconvenience at times to footpaths and local traffic in and around the site during the works. In addition, due to the nature of the works, trucks will be accessing the site at various intervals with materials. The access route will be from the West Coast Highway/North Street/Marine Parade.The rehabilitation works will include:
- Levelling the oval surface with a compactor
- Installing a new irrigation system
- Constructing a new cricket wicket
- Establishing new turf
- Installing new park furniture
- Reverting areas of existing turf to eco-zones (bush revegetation)

This upgrade will improve accessibility and enable access to a wider section of the community and also maintain compliance with the Australian Standards.
This work is progressed following the removal of a double swing in August 2017 and the subsequent replacement with temporary play equipment. The City will also top up the white sand.

The landscape upgrade is to improve amenity of the Reserve and Gardens. Works will include creating uniform plantings using a range of waterwise plants, removing inappropriate plants, converting areas of poorly performing turf to garden beds, mulching, installing kerbing to separate the garden areas from the turf areas and constructing a small loop path.
Unfortunately some inappropriate trees or shrubs will need to be removed as part of the landscape works, as follows:
- Ficus adjacent to No 1 Primula Place
- Conifers in the walkway behind No 7 and No 9 Primula Place (staged removal)
- Conifers outside No 15 Primula Place
- Robinia psuedoacacias (Moptops) beside memorial seat on Bromilow Green.
Works scheduled are proposed as followed:
- February/March 2018 - installation of kerbing and a small loop path
- April 2018 – inappropriate plant removals
- May 2018 - planting and mulching of garden beds.
