Nedlands Town Centre Precinct Plan - Help us create a Vision

Over the coming months, the City will be progressing the development of the Nedlands Town Centre Plan Local Planning Policy (Nedlands Town Centre Plan).  

The Nedlands Town Centre Plan will establish the statutory and strategic planning framework, as well as the associated vision, for the Nedlands Town Centre.  

Built form modelling is currently being undertaken to test different development scenarios within the Nedlands Town Centre. The next step in the project is for the outcomes of the built form modelling to be communicated to the community located in the Nedlands Town Centre, so that key stakeholders can help shape the development of the Nedlands Town Centre Plan.

The City recently ran Expressions of Interest inviting community members who are located within close proximity to the Nedlands Town Centre, to register their interest to participate in a Community Reference Group. Due to the number of Expressions of Interest received not being representative of a sample group, we are again inviting the community to submit their expressions of interest to be a part of the Nedlands Town Centre Precinct Plan Community Reference Group.
How do I express my interest in joining the Community Reference Group?
- Check if you are in the Key Stakeholder Selection Area and read the Terms of Reference
- Complete the Expression of Interest form by 5pm Saturday 18 September 2020.
Please note: If you expressed interest in the first round, you are not require to re-submit your interest.

The Council at its Ordinary Council Meeting on 23 June 2020 resolved to amend and advertise Draft Local Planning Policy Nedlands Town Centre Precinct Plan. The amendments to the Policy relate to plot ratio and community benefit measures. The policy amendments can be viewed in the Document Library.

At the Council Meeting of 24 September 2019 and in accordance with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 Schedule 2, Part 2, Clause 4, the City of Nedlands resolved to prepare and advertise the Nedlands Town Centre Precinct Plan Local Planning Policy, for a period of 21 days.
The purpose of the Policy is to identify key elements that need to be realised in order for the Town Centre to develop in line with the City’s vision and strategic objectives.
The draft Policy is available for comment and viewing via the Document Library.

Closing date for submissions is 5pm Saturday 4 April 2020. No late submissions will be accepted.

Administration will be presenting the draft Nedlands Town Centre Precinct Plan to Council at its meeting on 24 September, 2019 for the purposes of advertising for community engagement.
