The Council at their Meeting in March 2020 resolved to amend the Parking Local Planning Policy, to modify parking ratios for some residential developments. In accordance with Clause 7.3.2 of the Residential Design Codes Volume 1, the proposed residential parking ratios required approval from the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC). The Statutory Planning Committee of the WAPC considered the amendment at its 20 July 2021 meeting, and resolved to refuse the amendment. Parking ratios for residential developments will therefore remain as per the requirements set out in the Residential Design Codes Volume 1 and Volume 2.
