Nedlands Town Centre Precinct Plan - Help us create a Vision

A draft Precinct Plan has been developed to create a Town Centre for Nedlands from Smyth Road to the Peace Memorial Rose Gardens, with the heart of the centre being in the vicinity of Dalkeith Road to Stanley Street, both sides of the Stirling Highway.

The precinct plan will help the City define what might be expected for a Town Centre. It aims to ensure new buildings complement each other as well as neighbouring residences in adjoining streets. It addresses movement of people and vehicles, land use activity, buildings and infrastructure.

The draft Nedlands Town Centre Precinct Plan has been developed following a pre-consultation process involving key stakeholders (including Council). This can be accessed via the Document Library.

Engagement with the broader community has been undertaken from 14 March to 4 April 2020. The City has also engaged external consultants to undertake built form and traffic modelling to test the provisions of the draft precinct plan. The outcomes of this modelling, together with submissions received during the advertising period, will be used to create a revised precinct plan for the Town Centre.

The City wants to develop a Town Centre that will be a destination of choice for the City of Nedlands and for that reason it is imperative that we work together to achieve this very important initiative for the City as a whole.
