In accordance with Clause 7.3.2 of the Residential Design Codes Volume 1, the proposed residential parking ratios required approval from the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC). The Statutory Planning Committee of the WAPC considered the amendment at its 20 July 2021 meeting, and resolved to refuse the amendment. Parking ratios for residential developments will therefore remain as per the requirements set out in the Residential Design Codes Volume 1 and Volume 2.

- Removing the existing minimum number of car parking bays required for a residential aged care facility of 12 or 1 per every 4 beds (whichever is greater); and
- Inserting a new minimum number of car parking bays required for a residential aged care facility of 12 or 1 per every 2 beds (whichever is greater).
