Welcome to the City's dedicated page for existing and future laneways within the City!
The City is currently creating an overarching plan in relation to the widening of existing laneways and the creation of future laneways throughout the City but in particular which service properties that have been up coded/rezoned under Local Planning Scheme 3 (LPS3).
This page provides more details about the ways in which the City is using a series of planning instruments to develop and implement a holistic approach to the management and creation of laneways throughout the City.

This Policy is for the purpose of detailing the requirements relating to the ceding and construction of existing Laneways within the City of Nedlands.
The Policy is available for viewing on the Local Planning Policies page.
This Policy will have a longer than usual engagement period; over the next few months, the City will contact affected landowners directly to inform them of the engagement process going forward.

This policy provides laneway requirements for the establishment of a laneway between 16 and 18 Doonan Rd, Nedlands through to the 19 and 21 Vincent St, Nedlands. The laneway will run on an east-west axis.
Following the May 2020 Ordinary Council Meeting Council resolved to adopt the policy for final. Please note that some of the built form provisions for this Policy are subject to West Australian Planning Commission Approval in line with the Residential Design Codes Volume 1. The policy has been referred to the Commission for their endorsement.
