On 14 August 2019, the City received an application for a seven-storey building comprising of 26 serviced apartments and a ground floor cafe which was refused by the Metro-West Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) on 18 December 2019.

The applicant has since appealed this decision to the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) and following mediation has submitted amended plans. Due to the timeframes imposed by SAT, the advertising period to comment is limited.


Submissions closed at 5pm on Wednesday 4 March 2020. Please note, late submissions cannot be accepted.

    The City is currently working through submissions and reporting back to the applicants. The City’s officers are required to address your submissions in the reporting to the Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) and the applicants invited to do so as well. If you provided a submission on this application, you will be invited to view the report a week prior to presentation to Council and JDAP. Please note that the reporting dates have yet to be finalised.

    A development application has been received by the City which requires advertising in accordance with the City's Local Planning Policy - Consultation of Planning Proposals. The City is inviting comment in relation to the development which includes a ground floor cafe and 26 serviced apartments.

    You can also attend an information session at the City's Administration Building between 5.30 and 6.30pm on Monday, 2 September 2019 to discuss the proposal with the City's Planners.
