This work will be undertaken on the weekend of 27-28 May, with work commencing on Friday 26 May 2017. The hours of work will be undertaken between 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Friday, and 7.00 am to 6.00 pm Saturday. Curing of the concrete will occur during Saturday night and Sunday.
The road will be closed from 9.00 am on Friday through to early Sunday evening. The closure will enable the demolition, construction and curing of the new roundabout to be undertaken in a safe and efficient manner.
During the closure, traffic controllers will be on-site during the day and late into the night to provide advice on the diversion route as required.

This program is undertaken as part of the City’s maintenance programs to improve the visibility of the signage as well as providing consistency in design standards.
Areas of Mt Claremont are a focus as there is still signage that was installed by the Developer which has either faded or sustained damage making it difficult to see and read.
The program of works is as follows:
- Floreat: Completed
- Mt Claremont (Between Stephenson and Mooro Drive): Currently underway
- Mt Claremont (Between Mooro Drive and Alfred Road/Brockway): May 2017
- Mt Claremont (Between Cottesloe Golf Course and Mooro Avenue): June 2017
- Mt Claremont (St Peter’s Square): July 2017
During the upgrade process, there will be some instances due to visibility issues where existing poles may need to be relocated or replaced. However in most circumstances the only change will be the replacement of the sign blade itself.The street sign blade will look like: -

These works will be undertaken between 7.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
During the works, road closures will be required with detours provided. Closures are planned to cease around 4.30 pm to minimise inconvenience. However, we do ask that you consider increasing your commuting times during peak periods when planning your journey.
The operations team on site will endeavour to offer access to your property at all times, however there may be short periods when materials are required to cure. On these occasions the City will ensure contact has been made and suitable alternative arrangements have been discussed.
The kerbing will be replaced and upgraded with a new standard semi-mountable kerb. Where necessary, the reticulation may be temporarily re-routed to allow the works to proceed.
If you are a property owner, it is important that you test your reticulation system and report any faults within two weeks of the works being completed. If the reticulation is damaged during the works, the City will make good any repairs. However, after this period the City cannot be held responsible for further repairs.
The program for the works follow:
- Site preparation: 5 to 7 April
- Remove and prepare new kerbing for sealing: 10 to 14 April
- Remove and reinstate drainage: 14 to 24 April
- Profile and seal road: 25 to 26 April
- Install new kerbing and pram ramps: 27 to 28 April
- Reinstate reticulation: 1 May
- Asphalting of road: 3 May
- Reinstatement of driveway crossovers: 4 to 5 May
- Completion, including site clean-up: 8 May

The safety issues at the intersection have been recognised by the Australian Government’s Blackspot Program and the funding for the upgrade to the intersection goes a long way to help enhance and improve road safety within the City.

The works will improve the safety, aesthetics and functionality of the wall which separates the John XXIII College from the road reserve and include re-construction (where required), re-mortaring, re-pointing and bracing of the wall. Some sections at the southern end will require re-positioning back from the embankment.
Please remain clear of the work site whilst the repairs are underway.
