The City is committed to working with you to understand and use your views and thoughts to guide the implementation of our minor projects that have been approved in the annual budget process.

Each year the City undertakes minor infrastructure projects with many of these stemming from the City’s Capital Works Program. The projects involve works in road reserves and include but are not limited to footpath, kerbing, drainage and road resurfacing.

These projects help the City provide well maintained, connected and accessible infrastructure for everyone.

How can you get involved, find out more or provide feedback?

You can check out this page anytime to see what minor projects are being designed and provide feedback. All residents and property owners within each of the project areas will receive mail notification of the proposed design and any pending works. You can:

  • View the proposed designs in the document library on this page.
  • Complete an online survey (below) for the particular project you are interested in.
  • You can also ask us a question about any of the design projects being proposed for the City using the Ask us a Question tab below.

Please note, all projects inviting feedback have a closing date and feedback must be received prior to this date.

As part of the 2018/2019 Capital Works Program, there is provision for the construction of a footpath on Leon Road, between Robert Street and Alexander Road. The construction of the footpath would also provide pedestrians with a safe alternative route to Genesta Park and the shops along Waratah Avenue, as well as completing the footpath network along Leon Road.

Consultation on a boundary aligned footpath was undertaken between 22 October 2018 and 9 November 2018. The City received 10 responses from the 27 properties, with one resident in favour, eight residents against and one that provided no preference.

As a result, the Council received a recommendation that this proposal be withdrawn and funds allocated in the Capital Works Program be redirected to other existing or future projects.

The City is proposing to construct a 1.5m wide footpath along Leon Road between Roberts Street and Alexander Road. Resident feedback and comments on the proposal is now sought.

The construction of this section of footpath completes the footpath network for Leon Road which will safety allow pedestrians to access Genesta Park and the shops along Waratah Avenue.

Investigations on the location of the footpath has resulted in the design continuing the alignment from the existing footpath in Leon Road which aligns with the property boundaries and considers the development of resident’s verges and the street trees. An alternative design would have been on kerbside however this has been eliminated due to the cost and the requirement to relocate the street lights.

Please view the proposed design (including location) in the document library and complete the online submission.
