The City is progressing with an upgrade of the playground equipment at Brockman Reserve and invites your feedback on your preference on the proposed options.
Brockman Reserve is a local park within Dalkeith which provides a playground and grassed open space which services the needs of the residents in nearby streets (usually within a radius of 400 metres or a five-minute walk).
This project is to upgrade the playground to achieve increased accessibility for all users and to ensure the equipment complies with the relevant Australian Standards.
The options presented includes a traditional modular style playground and a nature playground. Both options incorporate an area of rubberised soft fall, for equal access purposes and white sand for therapeutic play purposes.

Following Council's approval for the installation of the nature-based playground, the construction of the playground is now complete.
This upgrade meant the playground has increased accessibility for all users and all equipment complies with the relevant Australian Standards.

The Council Committee considered a report on the outcomes of community engagement and a recommendation for a preferred playground design at its meeting on Tuesday, 9 April 2019. The Council considered the Committee's recommendation at its ordinary meeting of Council on Tuesday, 23 May 2019.
The Council approved for the installation of the nature-based playground.
