Do you visit the Mt Claremont shopping centre or the neighbourhood, or live in or near Asquith Street? If so, this project will be of an interest to you.

The City has developed a range of proposals to address the parking needs and amenity of the Mt Claremont shopping precinct and Asquith Park in response to numerous requests and a petition from residents to address the parking issues in this area.

Funds have been set aside in the 2018-19 capital works program to undertake works to improve the parking and amenity. Prior to this work proceeding, the City is inviting your thoughts on a range of options which have been developed.

A number of improvements have been developed for the following areas within the precinct and we now seek your preferences.

  • Area 1: Asquith Park (including current park)
  • Area 2: Parking area in front of Cellarbrations Liquor Barn
  • Area 3: Asquith Street (Strickland to Adderley Street)
  • Area 4: 25 Strickland Street
  • Area 5: Olearia Lane (rear of 25 Strickland Street)
  • Area 6: Road Reservation (Asquith Street from Mayfair Street to the Golf Club rear entrance)
