    The City have appointed Roads 2000 to undertake road resurfacing and associated works on Brockway Road between Alfred Road and Stubbs Terrace, Mt Claremont for a period of up to three weeks during weekdays from 7am to 5pm.

    The works will include the removal of the old kerb and line marking, along with installing new drainage, kerbs, footpath and replacement of the road surface with new asphalt.

    Road closures will be in place with detours around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access whilst closures are in place and on-site traffic controllers will be happy to assist.

    If you are a property owner/resident, please ensure that you test your reticulation system and report any faults to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.

    The City have appointed contractors, Civcon to carry out road resurfacing and drainage works on Underwood Avenue for two weeks (between 7am-5pm) commencing on 3 December 2018.

    The works include site preparation, new drainage, driveways and new asphalt.

    Road closures will be in place with detours around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access whilst closures are in place and on-site traffic controllers will be happy to assist.

    If you are a property owner or resident, please ensure that you test your reticulation system and report any faults to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.

  • Stirling Highway: footpath upgrades

    The City has appointed Contractors, Civcon to undertake footpath upgrade works on Stirling Highway as follows:

    • Meriwa Street to Clifton Street: 14 January for two weeks
    • Baird Avenue to Boronia Avenue: 21 January for three weeks
    • Mountjoy Road to Florence Road: 4 February for three weeks
    • Bruce Street to Thomas Street: 19 February for five weeks

    Work for each section will be undertaken during evenings from Sunday to Thursday, between the hours of 7pm to 6am and include:

    • Preparatory works (e.g. service locations and paint markings)
    • New drainage
    • Demolition of existing kerb and concrete pavers
    • Driveway accommodation works
    • Installation of new kerb
    • Installation of new brick footpath.

    A noise management plan has been implemented for the duration of the upgrade to minimise any inconvenience to residents and property owners.

    To ensure work, pedestrian and motorist safety, road and footpath closures will be in place with detours installed around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access and traffic controllers will be in place to assist the safe movement around the work site.

    If you are a resident or property owner, please ensure that you test your reticulation system and report any faults to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.

    In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995, the City of Nedlands will hold the annual Electors’ General Meeting on Thursday 13 December 2018 at 6pm, at the Adam Armstrong Pavilion, Beatrice Road, Dalkeith (David Cruickshank Reserve).

    The business to be conducted at the meeting will be:
    1. The Mayor’s Report;
    2. The CEO’s Report; and
    3. The Annual Financial Report, including the Auditor’s Report.
    4. Any general business
    The agenda and copies of the report will be available from 4 December 2018 from the City’s
    Administration Office (71 Stirling Hwy, Nedlands), City libraries and via nedlands.wa.gov.au.

    Copies of the Annual Report will also be available at the meeting.

    Any questions you wish to ask at the Electors’ General Meeting are requested to be submitted in
    writing to the Chief Executive Officer by Monday 10 December 2018.

    Cable Layers Australia will be undertaking works on Carrington Street on Sunday 18 November to remove redundant power lines as part of the Hollywood West underground power project.

    The west bound lane heading towards Loch Street (between Weld and Ord Street) will be closed from 7.30am to 1pm to ensure the power lines are removed safely.

    Traffic management will be in place during this time to enable motorists and pedestrians to pass safely. Full access will be available to the side streets during this time.

    The City has appointed Contractors Civcon to undertake road resurfacing and associated works on Minora Road from 22 October 2018 for a period of up to four weeks, during weekdays from 7am to 5pm.

    Contractors and/or Council staff may be on site the week prior to undertake project preparation works for example removal of the kerbs.

    The resurfacing works include the installation of new drainage, kerbs, driveway accommodation and a new asphalt surface following the removal of the existing pavement.

    During these works, road closures will be in place with detours around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access and on-site traffic controllers will be happy to assist.

    Some irrigation systems on the verges may be damaged during this period. If you are a property owner or resident, please ensure that you test your reticulation system and report any faults to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.

    The City has appointed Contractors, Civcon Civil & Project Management to undertake stormwater drainage upgrade works on the corner of Bishop Road and Victoria Avenue, Dalkeith from 1 October 2018 for up to three weeks, during week days, between the hours of 7am and 5pm

    The works include the demolition and replacement of existing kerbing and the pram ramp and the installation of new drainage pits.

    During the works entry to driveways may be interrupted for short periods of time, however this will be communicated closer to the time by the works team.

    The City has completed the road rehabilitation and associated works for Goldsmith Road between Stone and Sherwood Roads.

    The works included removal and replacement of the existing kerbs, crossovers and road asphalt and upgrading the drainage infrastructure.
