About the Project
Vincent Street is a Local Distributer Road with a speed limit of 50 km/hr, however, recent traffic counts on Vincent Street shows that the 85th percentile speed is 57.4 km/hr. Several crashes have also taken place along between the Jenkins Avenue intersection and the Melvista Avenue intersection between January 2017 to December 2021.
Due to the severity and frequency of crashes, this section of Vincent Street is now eligible for funding under the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program.
To reduce the number of crashes, reduce the severity, and trauma related to road crashes, the City is planning to install local traffic calming devices on Vincent Street. It is expected that these devices will reduce motorists’ speed significantly.
The community is invited to participate in a survey about this project.
