  • Stephenson Avenue - Christ Church Grammar School - Play Fields Access

    The new crossover installed on Stephenson Avenue has now been completed. This crossover will allow the Christ Church Grammar school to access the car parking and sporting ovals.

  • Emerge: Youth Arts Awards - Entries Closed

    Entries have now closed for Young artists aged 12 to 25 years to enter two dimensional artworks in the City of Nedlands Emerge: Youth Art Awards.

    The exhibition will be held on 20 August 2016, at John Leckie Pavilion, College Park from 2-6 pm. The free exhibition is open to the public and will showcase the art work of local young people. There will also be live music, food and giveaways.

  • Smyth Road (Verdun Street to Monash Avenue) - Verge Improvements

    Improvement works to the section of verge on Smyth Road, between Verdun Street and Monash Avenue is completed. The works included:

    • kerb removal
    • capping of reticulation, installation of signage and paint markings, ground preparation for pavers
    • drainage installation
    • new kerbing and concrete works
    • installation of pavers
    • reinstatement of asphalt driveways
    • site clean-up

    Thank you to everyone for your patience whilst these works were undertaken.

    It's an exciting time for the City with the demolition works having now commenced.

    As part of the refurbishment of the Allen Park Lower Pavilion, the majority of the building will be fully replaced. The demolition works have well and truly started, there's no going back now!

    The old parts of the building that have been demolished will be replaced with new larger facilities including change rooms, public toilets, kitchen and stores. The main hall isn't going anywhere, as it will be fully refurbished and receive a fresh clean new look to match the new sections of the facility.

    Temporary toilets are available on site and the majority of the car park is still available for use.

    Fencing has been installed, local plant species of native shrubs and ground covers have been planted and mulched. Works are due for completion by end of June 2016.

    This project is part of a larger project to enhance the existing Greenway corridor at Point Resolution Reserve, by increasing the area of bushland.

    This project will assist with the City’s aims of protecting biodiversity, reducing erosion, providing improved habitats, connectivity for local fauna and increasing the City’s capacity to absorb greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Marine Parade - Coastal Dune Revegetation Project

    This project has seen the planting of some 4,700 local provenance plant species and placement of tree guards. Ongoing environmental weed control and maintenance of green stock will be undertaken over the coming months.

    The revegetation project is supported by the Swanbourne Coastal Alliance and The Western Australian Planning Commission's Coastwest Grants Program 2015/16. Visit the site to see how work is progressing.

  • Peace Memorial Rose Garden Heritage Arbor Refurbishment

    A refurbishment of the historic Peace Memorial Rose Garden arbor will be completed over the next couple of weeks and then the electrical and irrigation works will follow. The public will be able to access the site during this period and when temporary fencing is dismantled.

    Leanne Bray (Artist) has been appointed to design an artwork for Nagal Pass. The artist and installation team installed the Banksia inspired artwork on the retaining wall on Monday 27 June 2016.
