Rockton Road - Road Resurfacing and Associated Works
Share Rockton Road - Road Resurfacing and Associated Works on Facebook Share Rockton Road - Road Resurfacing and Associated Works on Twitter Share Rockton Road - Road Resurfacing and Associated Works on Linkedin Email Rockton Road - Road Resurfacing and Associated Works linkCLOSED: This discussion has concluded.Road resurfacing and associated works will commence in Rockton Road on 2November 2016 between Stirling Highway and Princess Road. The works will include:
- Site preparation: 2 November
- Installation of new drainage pits: 3–4 November
- Kerb preparation works: 7–14 November
- Installation of concrete aprons: 15–18 November
- Road resurfacing: 24 November to 5 December
- New kerbing works 28–29 November
- Finishing works 5–8 December
Some preparatory works will need to be undertaken outside of these dates which may include kerb removal, capping of reticulation, installation of signage and paint markings. How long will this take?Works will be undertaken during weekdays between the hours of 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. The works should be completed within six weeks, however this is dependent on the weather and resources which may result in the project last as long as eight weeks.Access and Road ClosuresRoad closures will be in place with detours around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access whilst closures are in place. On-site traffic controllers will be happy to assist, however there will be periods of time (approximately 4 hours) following the laying of new asphalt road surface where entry cannot be allowed to properties as the bitumen needs to dry which, in turn, reduces the likelihood of properties being stained from the bitumen.
Drainage pits
New soak well pits will also be installed at appropriate locations to avoid clashes with service utilities and for effective road drainage.
Crossover Aprons
Where crossover aprons are being replaced with concrete aprons, there will a period of time where vehicle access is restricted to properties. Please note you will be required to park on the road during the preparation and concrete works.
Kerbing & Reticulation
The kerbing will all be replaced and upgraded with new standard semi-mountable kerbing.
Where necessary reticulation will be temporarily re-routed. Reticulation in the verge may be damaged during the works which the City will repair.
Please ensure that you test your reticulation system and report any faults to the City within 2 weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.
For further information, or enquiries, please contact the Robbie Black, Engineering Projects Coordinator on (08) 9273 3500 or council@nedlands.wa.gov.au.
Council considers that the works to be undertaken will be of mutual benefit for Ratepayers, Businesses and road users of the City and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
