    Montgomery Ave Footpath has been postponed until 30 September due to conflict with traffic management with the Underground Power Project.

    There will be continuing closure of the section of footpath along Montgomery Avenue, Mt Claremont to allow for repairs on the boundary wall fence.

    The temporary closure of the footpath, signage and tape will remain in place in the interim to inform the general public of the closure.

    Commencing 4 November 2019, Civcon will be carrying out the following works in addition to road re-surfacing on Rosedale Street, Floreat:

    • Profiling of existing road
    • New kerb
    • Driveway accommodation works
    • New asphalt surface
    • New line-marking.

    The works should be completed within a three-week timeframe, dependent on the weather and resources, and will be undertaken during weekdays, between the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm. Please note that some preparatory works will need to be undertaken outside of these dates and may include kerb removal and paint markings.

    Road closures will be in place with detours around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access whilst closures are in place, and on-site traffic controllers will be happy to assist.

    Please ensure that you test your reticulation system and report any faults to the City within 2 weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.

    Residents will be receiving correspondence in relation to parking concerns on Norfolk Rise outside Mooro Park, Mount Claremont which have been raised with the City and your feedback is invited. Your feedback will enable us to understand the issues and resident preferences for parking in this area.

    The City proposes to zone the area as two-hour parking, from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm to deter all day student parking and to increase the vehicle turnover in this area. Please see map below for further details by clicking on the heading.

    If the proposal proceeds, parking permits can be obtained from the City to allow residents and their visitors to park beyond the time limit.

    The City has appointed contractors, Roads 2000 to undertake road resurfacing, kerb and crossover replacement, from Monday, 23 September for a period of four weeks, Monday to Friday, from 7am to 5pm.

    Road closures will be required, however local traffic will continue to have access. Detours will be place to enable motorists and pedestrians to move safely around the work site.

    The City has appointed contractors Protek 24/7 to undertake the replacement of existing bollards on Rochdale Road, between Alfred Road and Haldane Street. The works will commence on Monday 23 September, 2019 and will be undertaken during weekdays, between the hours of 9:00am - 2:45pm.

    Traffic management will be in place around the work site to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. The works should be completed within a two-day timeframe; however this is dependent on the weather and resources.

    The City together with contractors have completed or currently progressing with a range of minor works as follows:

    • Bus stops near John XXIII College (SN19482 and SN19479) upgrade and inclusion of disability access and installation of a new shelter: completed.
    • Remediation to the footpath and kerb area on the western side of Montgomery Avenue from Alfred Road to the carpark at Mt Claremont: postponed until 30 September due to the underground power project.
    • All drainage pits and road eduction along the City’s distributor roads will be cleaned: 50% complete.
    • Citywide sweeping: commencing on 19 August.

    The City together with contractors will be undertaking a range of minor works during the July school holidays (8-19 July) as follows:

    • Bus stops near John XXIII College (SN19482 and SN19479) are being upgraded to include disability access and installation of a new shelter.
    • Remediation to the footpath and kerb area on the western side of Montgomery Avenue from Alfred Road to the carpark at Mt Claremont.
    • All drainage pits along the City’s distributor roads will be cleaned.

    This period of time has been chosen to reduce the impact on the nearby school communities.

    The Council at its meeting on Tuesday, 28 May 2019 to approved verge parking on Verdun Street with resident/visitor holding parking permits only.

    Permits are available for residents and their visitors wishing to park on the verge. To apply for a permit, please refer to the guide and application form on the City’s website.

    Changes have been implemented from Friday 26 July 2019.
