Stirling Highway: footpath upgrades

The City has appointed Contractors, Civcon to undertake footpath upgrade works on Stirling Highway as follows:

  • Meriwa Street to Clifton Street: 14 January for two weeks
  • Baird Avenue to Boronia Avenue: 21 January for three weeks
  • Mountjoy Road to Florence Road: 4 February for three weeks
  • Bruce Street to Thomas Street: 19 February for five weeks

Work for each section will be undertaken during evenings from Sunday to Thursday, between the hours of 7pm to 6am and include:

  • Preparatory works (e.g. service locations and paint markings)
  • New drainage
  • Demolition of existing kerb and concrete pavers
  • Driveway accommodation works
  • Installation of new kerb
  • Installation of new brick footpath.

A noise management plan has been implemented for the duration of the upgrade to minimise any inconvenience to residents and property owners.

To ensure work, pedestrian and motorist safety, road and footpath closures will be in place with detours installed around the work site. Local traffic will continue to have access and traffic controllers will be in place to assist the safe movement around the work site.

If you are a resident or property owner, please ensure that you test your reticulation system and report any faults to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.
