Bee Eater Lane (Wavell Road to Pardalote Laneway), Dalkeith - Resurfacing and stormwater drainage works

CLOSED: This discussion has concluded.

The City has contracted AllWest Plant Hire to undertake the above works on weekdays between 7 am and 5 pm from Monday 26 February for a period of up to three weeks.

The works will include surveying, removal of laneway debris, resurfacing of the laneway using recycled asphalt, installing new stormwater drainage pits and soak wells and lowering the existing sewerage lids.

The laneway will be closed during this time with detours in place to ensure traffic and pedestrians can move safely around the work site, but local traffic will continue to have access. Traffic controllers will be onsite to assist during this time. However, there will be periods of time (approximately 1 hour) following the laying of new road surface that entry will be prohibited to allow for drying.

The compaction of the laneway surface material will be undertaken by a 3.5T twin drum roller. At certain intervals during this time the ‘vibe’ function will be activated to compact the laneway material to alleviate wheel tracks, breakages etc. This noise may cause minor inconvenience when in use.

Should you have any further enquiries, please contact Luke James, the City's Works Coordinator on (08) 9273 3500.
