Stage 2 to begin construction 9 March 2020

The City is progressing with the construction of the long awaited Safe Active Street for Elizabeth Street and Jenkins Avenue. The first stage of the project is almost complete, and Stage 2 (Jenkins Avenue, from Dalkeith Road to Bay Road) will be commencing on Monday 9 March 2020. The project will be constructed by WCP Civil on behalf of the City of Nedlands.

Road re-surfacing and associated works will commence at the Dalkeith Road end of Jenkins Avenue and continue along Jenkins Avenue for a period of approximately 4 months until completion, however this will be dependent on the weather and resources.

WCP Civil will be undertaking the construction work in a staged process, completing three blocks at a time. Works will be undertaken between Monday to Friday, during the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm. Road closures will be in place for the works with detours around the work site, however local traffic will continue to have access whilst closures are in place.

Due to the complexity of these works, WCP Civil will be updating all directly affected residents on the progress of the works each fortnight and providing information on any road closures and detours where applicable.

Please ensure that you test your reticulation system and report any faults to the City within two weeks of the works being completed. After this period the City cannot be held responsible for repairs.

You can view the design and traffic management plan via the document library.
