Safe Active Street is approved by Council

The results from the community engagement activities undertaken for this project indicate a high-level of support for the project.

A report on the project together with the community engagement results (see document library) were presented to Council at its Committee meeting on Tuesday, 12 June and progressed to Council at its meeting on Tuesday, 26 June 2018.

The Council approved for the project to progress, as per the following resolution:

"Council recognises the level of community support for the Safe Active Streets Program in Elizabeth Street and Jenkins Avenue, and authorises the Chief Executive Officer to enter into a contractual arrangement with the Department of Transport for the delivery of the project fully funded by the Department."

To read the report, please visit the City's website (Your Council, Agenda, Minutes and Reports), TS Reports (TS11.18, Page 2) and to view the Minute (TS11.18 on Page 11).

The City looks forward to working with the community, residents and local schools in the area to progress this project. The detailed designs will now progress and these will be communicated as the project progresses.
