The City of Nedlands is conducting a review of its wards and invites you to participate in the community engagement as part of this important review.

This review of the ward system is required to comply with the requirements of the Local Government Act 1995 (the Act).

Schedule 2.2 of the Act requires local governments with wards to carry out reviews of the ward boundaries and the number of Councillors for each ward from time to time. No more than eight years can elapse between successive reviews.

Ward boundaries and the number of offices of councillor for each ward will be reviewed against the following five factors:

  • Community of interest
  • Physical and topographic features
  • Demographic trends
  • Economic factors
  • Ratio of Councillors to electors in the various wards.

How can you get involved, find out more or provide feedback?

Submissions close at 5pm, Monday 1 March 2021.
