  The results from the community engagement activities and final proposal for addressing traffic management issues were presented to the Council at its meeting on Tuesday, 24 October 2017.

  Council approved the traffic management design (see document library) for Quintilian Road which included deferring the installation of traffic pillows near Number 44 until an assessment has been undertaken on the first stage of work.

  
  

  The main design features are to install:

  • A flat top raised plateau to be installed at Brockway Road
  • No stopping line marking on both sides of the road
  • Re-paint existing parking bays outside Quintilian Primary School
  • No stopping line at the Brockway Road and Camelia Avenue intersection
  • A flat top raised plateau at intersection with Tuart Entrance
  • A flat top raised plateau at Stubbs Terrace

  
  

  There will also be various changes to line markings and signage to assist with the management of the traffic.
  

  It is anticipated that the works will be undertaken during the latter part of the summer school holidays. Following the construction of this stage, the City will be monitoring the effectiveness of these works.

  The City is proposing to install traffic calming treatments in Quintilian Road (a local access road) as a result of resident concerns in relation to road safety, rat running and speeding vehicles.

  The Road currently carries approximately 2,000 vehicles per day. The 85^th percentile speed is 57 km per hour. The 85th percentile speed is the speed or below that 85 per cent of the traffic is travelling at. This Road has a posted speed of 50 km per hour. Consequently, there is a recognised speed issue.
