What is a Precinct Structure Plan?
A Precinct Structure Plan is a planning document that provided a high-level framework for guiding how an area could be developed in the future. This includes the zoning, subdivision and development, as well as design criteria for future development. The Precinct Structure Plan is prepared in line with State Planning Policy 7.2 - Precinct Design.
Who is preparing the 'Nedlands Village' Precinct Structure Plan?
The Precinct Structure Plan is applicant-driven by CLE Town Planning & Design on behalf of Hesperia.
What area is covered by the 'Nedlands Village' Precinct Structure Plan?
The 'Nedlands Village' Precinct Structure Plan is bound by Monash Avenue, Willams Road, Karella Street and Smyth Road. The total land area is approximately 7.4 hectares.
What is the City's Role?
The City's role is to assess the structure plan in accordance with the provisions of State Planning Policy 7.2 and Livable Neighbourhoods. A large part is also consulting with our key stakeholders and particularly our community. The City's Administration will then provide a report to Council, with a recommendation to the Western Australian Planning Commision (who is the final determining authority).
The advertising of the Precinct Structure Plan does not indicate any formal support of the proposal by the City or the Western Australian Planning Commission.
