Want to find out more about volunteering and local opportunities available in Nedlands and provide us with your feedback on our services?

The City of Nedlands hold regular information sessions, including:

  • Volunteer Management training workshops
  • Volunteer Managers' local network meetings, and
  • Step into Volunteering information sessions

These are an ongoing process and feedback received from participants will help us plan for future workshops and network meetings.




How can you get involved, find out more or provide feedback?

  • Send us your thoughts via the feedback tab
  • Ask us a question about our volunteering services
  • Complete our post information session survey

  • Feedback - Turn your Organisation into a Volunteer Magnet Training 20 August 2019

    The Nedlands VRC in partnership with Melville and Swan VRC provided a Volunteer Management Training Workshop on Tuesday 20 August 2019 held at Heathcote Cultural Precinct.

    Facilitated by Andy Fryer the training workshop titled "Turn your Organisation into a Volunteer Magnet" presented six key elements into what makes a volunteer program truly magnetic to volunteers.

    Fifty five volunteer managers attended from 30 organisations. Local not for profits who attended included Solaris Care, WA Aids Council and Rocky Bay Inc.

    Feedback received from a workshop participant summed up the overall success of this training in these words:

    "Thank you for organising this workshop. It was very informative, practical and will be useful to my current work and goals in my volunteer management position."

  • Social Media - How to write content persuasively

    The Nedlands VRC in partnership with Melville VRC provided a Volunteer Management Training Workshop on Tuesday 12 March 2019 held at the Mt Claremont Community Centre.

    Facilitated by Hancock Creative Inc the training workshop titled “Social Media : How to write content creatively" presented ideas and explored the communication principles of writing content persuasively.

    Thirty Volunteer Managers attended from eighteen volunteer involving organisations, including Solaris Cancer Care, Fellowship of Australian Writers WA, Oz Harvest, Cycling without Age, Pets of Older Persons, Munda Biddi Trail Foundation and Legacy.

    An acknowledgement received from a workshop participant summed up the overall success of this training in these words:

    "I have been to many workshops during my career and the saying is "if you come away with one thing, it's a good workshop". I came away with pages. Cannot recommend highly enough. Lisa from Hancock Creative was an engaging presenter. Thank you."
