Community Inclusion and Cultural Safety Consultation

The City of Nedlands is committed to strengthening our relationships with people of all beliefs and cultural backgrounds, and ensuring that our facilities, programs, and community engagement activities are culturally safe, accessible, and inclusive for everyone.
This consultation forms an important part of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) commitments, particularly actions focused on listening, learning, and responding meaningfully to community needs.

Through this survey, we aim to better understand the aspirations, priorities, and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, people living with disability and their carers, local organisations, and stakeholders who interact with the City or who may wish to do so in the future.

Your insights will help us:

• Improve the cultural safety and inclusivity of our facilities and spaces;
• Ensure our community spaces and services are guided by the lived experiences of people living with disability and their carers
  
• Strengthen our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, Elders, and community groups;
• Ensure our future reconciliation actions are guided by local knowledge, needs, and lived experience;
• Improve how we design, promote, and deliver events, engagement activities, and services; and,
• Identify barriers to participation and employment within local government,

Consultation Period

This consultation will be open for a period of 46 days from Monday 16 March to Thursday 30 April 2026.
