Hampden Road between Gordon St & Monash Ave - Asphalt Resurfacing and Associated Works
The works are now complete.
Are you a regular road user of Hampden Road?
If so, you may wish to find out about the roadworks to be carried out in June 2020 that could affect your road journey.
The City has contracted Civcon to carry out the below works on behalf of the City.
The scheduled work is anticipated to commence on 15 June 2020 for a period of approximately 3 weeks, however weather and resource availability may impact on the completion date.
The works will be completed in three stages and will include:
- Demolish and reinstate various median islands, ramps and kerbing;
- Asphalt profiling;
- Asphalt resurfacing;
- Pavement reconstruction in isolated locations;
- Brick paving and concrete paving to median islands and roundabout;
- Accommodation works.
Afternoon Night Works
To limit the construction time frame and lessen the impact to residents and businesses on Hampden Road, these works will be completed as night works. The night works will be completed between the hours of 3:00pm – 12:00am Monday to Friday. Weekend works will be carried out between 7:00am-6:00pm Saturdays and 8:00am-6:00pm Sundays.
These works will be undertaken within the conditions of an approved Noise Management Plan and every effort will be made within reason to minimise the impact of these works while completing it in a timely fashion.
The anticipated work staging is as follows:
STAGE 1: 15 June 2020 – 23 June 2020
- Demolish kerbs, pram ramps, roundabout and road pavement.
- Construct new kerbs, pram ramps and roundabout.
STAGE 2: 24 June 2020 – 29 June 2020
- Demolish kerbs, pram ramps and road pavement.
- Construct new kerbs and pram ramps.
STAGE 3: 4 July 2020 – 12 July 2020
- Road Profiling and Resurfacing from Gordon Street to Monash Avenue.
Please note that some preparatory works will need to be undertaken outside of these dates and may include survey and paint markings.
Road closures will be in place with detours around work site.
Local traffic will continue to have limited access whilst closures are in place. On-site traffic controllers will be available to assist.
