Consultation has concluded
Shape the future of Public Health in the City of Nedlands
Each Local Government is required to have a Public Health Plan that addresses the present and emerging health needs of the community.
The City of Nedlands has developed a draft Public Health Plan in collaboration with the Public Health Plan Working Group that comprised of representatives from across the City directorates, and external stakeholders including the North Metropolitan Health Services and an experienced public health professional.
A Community Health Profile was established as part of the Plan’s development. It considered the analysis of health data specific to residents of the City and was provided by the Department of Health WA and North Metropolitan Health Services, and district demographic data was provided by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The profile provided the Working Group insight information about the current health status of the community.
The Working Group then translated the findings from the Community Health Profile into a set of key health pillars, outcomes and objectives – setting out the achievable actions the City will take to address health issues within our community.
The plan will undergo annual reviews to ensure its continued relevance in an ever-changing environment.
This plan encompasses:
The strategic context of the Public Health Plan
An overview of public health within the City of Nedlands and an overview of how the plan was developed
The City's strategies to achieve and allocate resources for its desired outcomes and objectives.
How success will be measured and reported.
The City of Nedlands and Council are now actively seeking final community feedback on the Draft Public Health Plan before it is put to Council for consideration for adoption. Your input is highly valued as we work together to improve and protect the health of our community.
Provide your feedback by completing the survey at the bottom of this page before close of business Friday 24 May.
