Consultation for this project has concluded
The City of Nedlands is seeking community feedback on a proposed sports lighting upgrade at David Cruikshank Reserve, Nedlands.
The current sports lighting at David Cruikshank Reserve does not meet the relevant Australian Standards required for safe sporting activity. The proposed upgrade would involve removing the existing poles and installing new poles with LED light fittings. The new lighting would be designed and constructed to meet the Australian Standards AS2560 (Sports Lighting) for training (50 lux) and AS4282 (Control of Obtrusive Effects of Outdoor Lighting).
In the images shown below, a comparison of the current sports lighting at David Cruickshank Reserve and what the proposed lighting upgrade could achieve is illustrated. Taller light poles as shown in the second photo and new LED lighting technology will concentrate the light on the oval and reduce the amount of light leaving the field (light spill).

The City presents four (4) lighting options for the community's consideration. Please view all lighting options by clicking HERE.
Please note that lighting options 3 and 4 will not meet the Australian Standard requirements for sports lighting and will not be supported by the Club, nor will they be eligible for State Government funding.
