Consultation has concluded

The City of Nedlands is seeking community feedback on a proposed sports floodlighting upgrade at College Park Lower Oval, Nedlands.

Background

The current infrastructure does not meet the relevant Australian Standards as the lights emit a lower level of luminance than is required for safe sporting activity.

Claremont Junior Football Club (CJFC) want to upgrade the sports floodlighting to facilitate evening training and games. Junior female football is growing in popularity and is typically fixtured for Friday evenings, under lights. Currently, CJFC female teams cannot play fixtured games at College Park because the sports floodlights are not up to standard.

The community consultation period is open between Friday 7 July – Friday 28 July 2023.

How do I provide feedback?

What happens next?

The outcomes of the community consultation will be collated and presented to Council in August 2023, along with a Club Night Lights Funding Program grant application, for Council consideration. If endorsed, the grant application will be forwarded to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for consideration for grant funding.

If you would like to speak to a City officer about this project, please call Rose Stewart, A/Coordinator Community Development on 9273 3500 or commdev@nedlands.wa.gov.au
