Do you live on Alexander Road, Dalkeith? If so, you may be interested in the proposal to construct four multiple dwellings and a basement car parking area on a parcel of land at 6 Alexander Road, Dalkeith.

The City is providing a number of opportunities for you to find out more and to provide a submission, as follows.

  • Attend a Community Information Session at the City's Council Chambers (71 Stirling Highway, accessed from Smyth Road) on Monday 11 November 2019 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm (please see below for further information).
    Please RSVP here by 8 November 2019 to ensure that the session is adequately resourced.
  • Complete a submission.
    If you make a submission you will be invited to attend the meeting(s) that Council considers and determines the application.

The Community Information Session organised for this proposal is a two-way communication between the City and its residents to provide an opportunity for both parties to receive accurate, timely information. To gain a further understanding of the requirements for both parties at these sessions, please read the expected behaviours document in the document library.

The Chief Executive Officer, under the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (1984) and the Code of Practice has a responsibility to protect workers and other people in the workplace from situations that may cause injury or harm.

City staff managing this community information session are also empowered under the Act to take measures to ensure the information session is not exposed to behaviour which impacts on the safety of all those in attendance. These staff also have the power to close the session, or request people to leave if a situation of an unsafe environment is identified.

  • Application under State Administrative Tribunal review

    An application for a review of Council's decision was lodged with the State Administrative Tribunal on 29 April 2020. The matter was listed for a Final Hearing on 13-14 August 2020 and was completed on 5 October 2020. The decision of the State Administrative Tribunal is pending.

    A development application has been received by the City which requires advertising in accordance with the City's Local Planning Policy - Consultation of Planning Proposals. The City is inviting comment in relation to the development which includes five storey, five multiple dwelling development and a basement car parking area.
