We are a top performing local government in WA with high diversion from landfill, low waste costs and strong customer service satisfaction levels. To keep annual waste charges low, we continue to work with our community to encourage positive behaviour towards minimising waste and maximising recycling.
In the past year, the City has achieved a 53 per cent diversion rate from landfill, meaning this waste was either recycled, reused or recovered. More than 22 per cent of residents are also using the second recycle bin option.
Our current waste services contract is due to expire in late 2020 and we will soon be preparing a new tender. Before this happens, we need your help to find out more about waste management behaviours in your household.
