    The Water Corporation have appointed Contractors, Georgiou, to undertake construction work at the Carrington Street Wastewater Pump Station in Nedlands between Monday and Friday, 7am to 5pm.

    The work is expected to be completed by the end of January 2018.

    The purpose of the work is to construct new below ground storage facilities to assist with the safe removal of wastewater.

    During this time, people may notice an increase in noise and activity at the pump station site.

    No access to private property will be required and work will not affect your water or wastewater services.

    Construction of the nbn (national broadband network) is currently under way in the City of Nedlands with more than 3,650 premises in parts of Mount Claremont and Swanbourne now nbn-ready, available to connect to the network.

    Residents can expect to start seeing nbn contractors throughout the City over the coming months, as the nbn rollout continues to all premises.

    For details on when connection is scheduled for your address, visit the nbn website and use the address checker on the homepage. You can register for email updates so you can find out when your home or business is ready to connect.

    To switch to the nbn, contact a phone or internet provider and choose a plan that best suits your needs.

    Refurbishment works on the wall is progressing well with the work being expected to be completed by the end of April.

    The works will improve the safety, aesthetics and functionality of the wall which separates the John XXIII College from the road reserve and include re-construction (where required), re-mortaring, re-pointing and bracing of the wall. Some sections at the southern end will require re-positioning back from the embankment.

    Please remain clear of the work site whilst the repairs are underway.

    Maintenance on the Bicycle Pump Track, College Park Youth Recreation Area was originally scheduled for March 2017, however there has been a delay in contractor availability. As a result the work is now scheduled for commencement in late May. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    The works include installing drainage and preparing for an asphalt surface. These works are designed to extend the life of the facility, to be more functional following rain events and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.

    It would be appreciated if Park Users refrain from using the track whilst the works are progressing.

    The landscaping of Beaton Park in preparation for the All Abilities Play Space is about to commence. The area will be closed to the public whilst construction proceeds. You will also notice that the nearby barbecues will also be disconnected.

    Whilst this work is being undertaken, the City will be commencing the purchase of the play equipment.

    The limestone rock revetment wall construction has been completed. Please visit the Nedlands Foreshore to view the work.

    Stage 2 which continues the rock revetment wall to the Perth Flying Yacht Squadron is current being planned.
