Consultation has concluded on this project.
The City of Nedlands is seeking feedback from the Community in relation to the Waratah Avenue installation of a median strip. The City is reviewing a request to install a 2 metre wide median strip between Adelma Road and Alexander Street in Dalkeith.
The purpose of this is to improve the visual amenity of the street by providing tree planting opportunities, reducing heat loading and reducing vehicle speeds through a narrowing of the road. The Traffic Calming and Parking proposal uses physical design and other measures to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
Should the proposal proceed, vehicles will be limited to turn left into and out of residential driveways along Waratah Avenue. Businesses located at 81 Waratah Avenue will continue to have access to both lanes of traffic so too will the Nedlands Community Centre located at 97 Waratah Avenue. The proposed strip will inhibit vehicles turning right into Genesta Crescent.
A copy of the concept plan can be found under the Key Documents section.
Community feedback closes at 5pm on Wednesday, 09 March 2022.
