West Hollywood Area - Implementation Information
Work on the implementation stage of the Nedlands (West Hollywood) Underground Power Project will begin on 30 April.
The City, together with Western Power, has already completed an upgrade to the capacity of the high voltage network in preparation for the latest work.
Taking about 10 months to complete, the latest stage includes the installation of:
- Remaining transformers and switchgear.
- New underground network cables along road reserves.
- Customer mains from the property boundary to the meter board, where required.
- New LED street lighting using the latest technology.
The removal of overheard powerlines will then follow.
Cable Layers Australia have been contracted to do the work and will keep residents updated during the project.
The City has a commitment to carrying out the work with as little impact as possible.
The co-operation from everyone to ensure the project proceeds smoothly will be appreciated. Both the City and Western Power will be keeping you up-to-date as the project progresses.
During the works each property will receive a series of advices with information about the work, as well as the contractor’s phone number so enquiries can be dealt with quickly.
This underground power project will greatly improve the overall amenity of the area and bring significant benefits in terms of safety, security and continuity of supply.
