Will the beach paths still be accessible?
Yes, the beach paths will be accessible, however the immediate work sites will be restricted. During the demolition of the existing showers, access may be restricted for short periods of time for safety reasons. Beach goers are asked to be mindful when machinery is in use.
Will the boardwalk path and playground still be accessible?
Yes, the boardwalk path and playground will be accessible. The City's contractors are required to maintain adequate safe passage for pedestrians, bicycles, prams and wheelchairs.
Users of the beach and the reserve are asked to be mindful when machinery is in use.
Will the showers still be available for use?
Yes, the showers will be available for use as the existing showers will stay connected until the new showers are operating.
There is an alternative shower located near the roundabout at Marine Parade and North Street.
Why are works being undertaken at this time?
The upgrades were planned to coincide with a period of time where there would be less disruption to beach and reserve users, and the cafe patrons.
