What were the results for the 2018 Parent Survey

    The results from the 2018 Parent Survey demonstrated that the Point Resolution Child Care parents are overwhelmingly satisfied with the high-quality care and program their child/children are receiving. Parents indicated that the Centre provides an excellent service to the City’s families.

    The survey was divided into five areas. Parents were asked to provide their level of satisfaction within each of these areas:

    • Organisation and administration
    • Early learning and care programming
    • Nutrition
    • Physical space
    • Quality of staff interactions with the children and  families
    Parents were also asked to rate their overall satisfaction and provide other suggestions on how the quality of care can be improved.

    Feedback was provided on Centre administration, early learning  programming quality, educator-child and educator-parent interaction and communication between staff and parents.

    Satisfaction

    Parents were overall, very satisfied with the high quality of care their child/children received.  Parents expressed an appreciation of the warmth and nurturing environment provided by the staff. This high satisfaction rate is a direct reflection on the quality of staff at the Centre.
    Examples of comments included:

    "It feels like a family day care with the security of being run by the City"

    "We were given a long orientation, invited to come as often as we felt necessary and that was so vital for us"

    "It's like an extended family with low staff turnover and friendly faces"

    "The unique care for each individual child and the genuine care for each child as if they were their own"

    "Each member of the staff has a real passion for childcare which is reflected in their demeanor. This is the third childcare we have tried in Perth and we are delighted with PRCC. I recommend PRCC to each parent I meet"

    "The exuberant, caring and professional staff who are wonderful with the children and provide a lovely environment to learn and play. The educational program is interesting and engaging for the children, and communication with parents is excellent"

    "Healthy meals provided daily. It's also child/play focused and adaptable to each of the children's needs and/or interests"

    "The environment is very "homely" while still maintaining professionalism"

    "The confidence I have in the staff, the flexibility they offer, the support and care they give my child. PRCC has been wonderful for us"

    "This is my child’s first childcare experience and she absolutely loves it. The staff are just amazing, and she is constantly learning new things. I can't thank the PRCC team enough for all their amazing work"

    Common themes

    The following common themes emerged as recommendations that would help to increase parental satisfaction:

    • Hold activities to encourage parents to know each other in a formal environment as the children make friends
    • Direct debit of fees
    • Increase communication throughout the day on the child/children's participation in activities, their wellbeing etc, including photos
    • Providing different food options on different days for the more adventurous eaters

    In summary, the survey results demonstrate that PRCC parents are overwhelmingly satisfied with the quality care that their child/children is receiving. 

    The Child Care Centre values positive relationships between families and staff.

    Where is the Centre located?

    The Centre is located at 53 Jutland Parade Dalkeith. The Point Resolution Child Care (PRCC) has been operating since 1983 and provides long day care to residents and ratepayers of the City of Nedlands.

    PRCC is open-plan where children of different ages can interact together, rather than be in separate rooms.

    Who does the Centre cater for?

    The Centre caters for 0-5 years and is licensed to have a maximum of 24 children at any one time.

    What is your Educator to Child ratio?

    The ratio, educator to child is:

    • 0-2 years: 1:4
    • 2-3 years: 1:5
    • 3-5 years: 1:10

    What are the opening hours?

    The Centre opens from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

    How much does the centre charge?

    The Centre charges $130.00 per day and $95.00 per half day. The Child Care Subsidy is available to eligible families attending the Centre.

    Do you offer a Pre-Kindy Program?

    Yes, PRCC offers a Pre-Kindy Program for the children which helps prepare them to transition into their next schooling experience.

    Do you have an Early Childhood Educator on site?

    Yes, an early childhood teacher is available Monday to Friday, who plans the children's programs.  The Centre is compliant with the Early Years Learning Framework.
