Invasive weeds were removed in July, followed by the installation of certified mulch, fencing and 3000 water-wise, locally occurring native shrubs and ground covers in August. This project has increased the area of bushland at Point Resolution by converting part of the reticulated lawn area to a native garden.
This project assists the City to protect and enhance biodiversity, reduce ground water consumption, improve habitats and connectivity for local fauna as well as increasing the City’s capacity to absorb greenhouse gas emissions.
This project was undertaken in accordance with the Point Resolution Enviro-scape Masterplan and further stages will be developed in 2019. The pathways as identified in the enviro-scape master plan have also been completed.
