The City has received an application for a Local Development Plan for the Nedlands Reserve Precinct Structure Plan area. The Local Development Plan has been prepared for the lots intended to be created by the Structure Plan in the south-west corner of the site. Members of the community are invited to make a submission on Local Development Plan No. 1. Submissions can be made through the online survey below, via email at planning@nedlands.wa.gov.au, or by sending hard copy submissions to the City's Administration Building.
What is a Local Development Plan?
A local development plan is an instrument used to coordinate and assist in achieving better built form outcomes by linking lot design to future development in a designated area. It can control development parameters such as setbacks, building height, landscaping and vehicle access location.
What is the City's Role?
The City will assess the Local Development Plan to ensure that it accords with Orderly and Proper planning and the Framework for Local Development Plans. The City will determine whether to approve or refuse the Local Development Plan at a future Council Meeting.
Is this the final plan?
Not necessarily, the City's role is to consult with the community and use any submissions received to inform the assessment and eventual decision regarding the Local Development Plan.
What is happening now and how can I get involved?
