Consultation has concluded

The City is seeking the community's feedback on proposed names for an un-named laneway north of Haldane Street and Rochdale Road, Mt Claremont.

The proposed names are:

Boundary Lane

The laneway has historically been referred to as 'Boundary Lane' by residents in the vicinity.

Plant Species

Many laneways in Mt Claremont have been named after native plant species. For example, Acacia Lane, Olearia Lane and Clematis Lane. Officers reviewed the Native Plant Inventory for the Mt Claremont Reserve and complied a list of three possible names.

  • Grevillia Lane
  • Jacksonia Lane
  • Melaleuca Lane

What is happening now?

Council endorsed the four names above for the purpose of advertising at their 28 May 2024 meeting.

The proposed names will now be open for feedback for a period of 30 days, from 1 July - 30 July 2024.

At the completion of advertising the two preferred names will be presented to Council for endorsement to be referred to the Geographical Names Committee (GNC) for registration.

Members of the community are invited to provide feedback through the Your Voice page, via email at planning@nedlands.wa.gov.au, or by sending hard copy submissions to the City's Administration Building at 71 Stirling Highway, Nedlands, WA 6009. For email and hard copy submissions, please include:
