Do you live near, or use, or have an interest in Mt Claremont Oval? If so, the City would like to hear your thoughts the Westside Wolves Hockey Club proposal to build permanent hockey facilities at Mt Claremont Oval.

At the same time, the facilities will still be available for other community groups and other various community activities.

The City is seeking to understand the level of community support for the project and your feedback is important to the City.

This engagement project is to assist with the City's decision-making process on whether to approve a period of time for the hockey club to further investigate and develop a detailed proposal and business plan.



How can you get involved, find out more or provide feedback?

Please:

  • Visit the document library and view artist images and site plan of the proposal.
  • Ask us a question on the proposal, by using the question tab and we will respond.
  • Complete the survey to provide us with your support for or against the proposals. This survey should only take 2 minutes to complete and will be used as the basis of identifying the community's level of support - NOW CLOSED
  • Should you need an alternative method of providing your response, please use the City's email (council@nedlands.wa.gov.au) or mail (PO Box 9, Nedlands, 6909), or telephone the Community Engagement Coordinator (Ph. 9273 3500) for assistance. However, the completion of the online survey is preferred.

    Council at its meeting on 26 March 2019 approved the recommendations in relation to the Westside Wolves proposal to build a synthetic hockey pitch and facilities at Mt Claremont Oval Reserve.

    Council resolved to:

    • not support the proposal to construct a synthetic hockey pitch at the Mt Claremont Oval Reserve due to lack of support from existing tenants and the local community; and
    • invite the Westside Wolves Hockey Club and Mt Claremont community to provide input into the review of the Strategic Recreation Plan and development of the Public Open Space Strategy.

    The Council Committee meeting held on Tuesday, 12 March 2019 recommended that Council does not support the proposal from the Westside Wolves Hockey Club to construct a synthetic pitch and club rooms at Mt Claremont Oval Reserve due to lack of support from existing tenants and the local community.

    The recommendation will proceed at its Ordinary Meeting on 26 March 2019.
